Opportunities
Coffee service
This position requires a but of foot work and enthusiasm for a good chat. You will be in charge of brewing the coffee and setting up the drink station for coffee service. Once our guests arrive you will be serving them refreshments while getting to know them and chatting! We serve coffee Monday through Friday from 9am to 11am.

Reception
Our receptionist is responsible for the first impression for our guests. They receive payment for meals and check the list of pick ups as they arrive.

Biscuits
Once a week we serve biscuits to our guests. This position requires you to be on your feet and moving around quite a bit. You will be sharing this position with 1-2 other volunteers. Between the team you will be setting tables, making coffee, setting up the drink and biscuit table, and serving guests as they arrive. You will also be in charge of cleaning all the used stations as well.

We love waffle day! Once a month we hold a waffle extravaganza with positions available from the kitchen to serving to cleaning.

Cook
Our kitchens are looking for the best! If you love to cook we would love to chat! This position is split between 2 volunteers a day that aid our kitchen coordinator in preparing the daily meals. When you arrive for your shift you are assigned your tasks for the morning. Then once all the meals have been served you will join the rest of the volunteers and staff for lunch on us.

Dishwasher
This job is what it sounds like, washing plates and cups and any kitchen dishes. Our dish pit is run on our busiest days, Wednesday for tea room and once a month for Waffles. Our weekly Wednesday shift begins at 10am and is usually completed by 11:30 am. Once a month on the 3rd Thursday, our waffle day shift start at 9 am and is complete by 1:30pm and lunch is provided.

meals on wheels
Each day we have a small number of meals that need to be delivered to homes. We have two methods of delivery, driving and walking. Most of our meals are driven to personal homes but some are delivered to the Crocus building across the street from the Senior Centre.

Cedar reception
This reception position takes place at Cedar Estates. It involves setting up the dining room, receiving payment for meals, calling, serving, and any extra help the kitchens may need.

Events
Once a month we do large fundraising events. These events take lots of volunteers to make it work. We need everything from serving to set up and take down to kitchen help. This is a great opportunity to have your family or small group serve together.
